Circus are delighted to be hosting a one day workshop at Inverness Creative Academy for BA (hons) art students from Inverness College UHI, Perth College UHI and Moray College UHI.  The day will be broken into a variety of practical exercises, group work and problem solving.  This format gives students the opportunity to work with peers, increase their network and experience a simulation of what life after college may entail.

The day will be divided into two parts. The installation skills section is a practical workshop using tools and hanging work. From ensuring mirror plates are put on correctly and walls measured up, to making holes and fixing paintings to the wall in a professional way.  Students will work in groups to hang different kinds of work.  This section will also include trying a variety of hanging methods they may wish to consider for a range of different types of work and materials.

The second section on planning and curating work draws on practical skills required to plan a single event to a range of related events – what considerations to take into account and how students can best use their skills and those of their peer group. This will encompass a group activity where their problem solving and planning skills will be tested.
