Circus Artspace in collaboration with Highland Pride are delighted to present a day of free events on the eve of Inverness’ Pride March. All events are free and open to LGBTQ+ folk and allies.

2-6pm, Placard Making Drop-in

Pride started as a protest in response to the Stonewall riots, a series of spontaneous protests by members of the gay community in response to a police raid that began in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village, New York City. Activate your activism and celebrate Pride in style by joining us to create your very own placard for the Pride March (Suitable for ages 5+). Drop-in anytime and all materials are provided.

5-6pm, DJing 101 Mini-Workshop

In this fun and informal workshop with residents from the Queers Without Fears DJ collective we’ll go through some of the basics of DJing and help you get started! Everyone welcome, just show up! No experience or equipment necessary. Perfect training to have a go at DJing at the party later that night.

6-10pm, Sober Pre-Pride Party

with Queers Without Fears DJ set + open deck

A pre-Pride party with a difference, we will be serving non-alcoholic drinks and we’ll have music from Inverness DJ collective Queers Without Fears + anyone else is welcome to have a go, just bring a USB stick with some tunes - think disco, pop, funk, house etc. They’ll be some food and soft drinks available, but we’d welcome contributions to the food table.
