Unit 11: former ‘Imperial Music’

In Unit 11 is Inverness based artist Jack Kay. Jack’s exhibited work draws on the history of the Victorian Market Hall and the memories locked within, channelling the fish, meat and game traders of the past and his own memories of the ‘Imperial Music’ record shop, which were all located in Market Hall by the Church Street entrance.

Jack is a political protest artist, his work focuses on social-political topics, where he explicitly illustrates the conversations, consequential impact and aftermath of such themes on modern human society. He is primarily a sculptor, but also uses photography and digital imagery in his practice.
