Groundwork

Groundwork was a creative youth project delivered by Circus Artspace, with Connecting Young Carers in 2025. Local young people took on the role of creative fieldworkers, investigating the land and the ways people have lived in it over the centuries.

We visited five sites in the Inverness area; Drumnadrochit, Farr, Abriachan, Inverness Museum & Art Gallery and Dores. We met with local people, artists and facilitators who helped us learn more about each place.

We walked, listened, measured, looked, sat, touched, tasted, smelled, drew & painted. We ate local food and listened to traditional stories. We used our own 'index cards' to record our experiences and the unique qualities and vibes of each place.
