An art party in Inverness and a new colab between Circus Artspace & Isle of Riso. If you've been craving some artistic connection, this is the night for you. We want you to join us for the whole programme (obvs) but here's what's happening if you're juggling your time and energy...

5pm Isle of Riso - Mega Drink & Draw 

Hosted by Isle of Riso, this one is free to attend. No faff. You just show up, grab a drink if you fancy, and get stuck in. This mega Drink & Draw will have a few different fun warm-up activities and time for your own sketchbook. All abilities welcome - there's no pressure to be good at drawing or share your individual work. BYOB plus tea/coffee and art materials provided.

7pm Circus & SCAN welcome  

Intros from the team and a chance to hear more about SCAN's (Scottish Contemporary Art Network) current work in the Highlands including their Ley Lines creative placemaking project.

7:15pm  Artist film screenings 

Nat Wastnidge aka The Art Fidget, Call & Response, (2 mins) this series of short films were made during the 2020 lockdown. New to the Highlands, Nat was finding her feet, wandering the streets with her phone camera, recording what often goes unnoticed. Her friend in London then made a video response. The work features an edit of this call and response process.

Thomson & Craighead, Saffron, 2018, (10 mins) a documentary portrait of Kasia Pogo who runs the world food shop in Inverness, where she sells a dizzying array of specialist foods from the four corners of the world to her customers visiting the shop from all over the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

7:30pm Game of Ordinary performance from David Sherry

David Sherry lives in Glasgow. His work centres around live and filmed performance, influenced by social interaction and observing ordinary behaviour. He is often motivated by routines, pattern of social expectation, etiquette, humour, stand-up comedy, media-politics and environmentalism. Everyday interactions become a source for performances. Pushing real experiences back and forth. David creates narrative text, drawings, videos and sculptural props, connecting with live audiences, through humour and surrealism. Exploring the social and cultural balance as it moves and changes around us.

8pm Open decks / DJ session with Mark Mackenzie

Mark is the Label Manager at Kouncil Cuts Recordings in Inverness and this community music gathering is an opportunity for beginner and casual DJs to take a turn on the decks. This part of the evening is focussed on creative networking in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
